Soul-Furching!

Alllright. I haven't posted here in a while. So I'm gonna start off with something pretty strong, methinks.

I'm coming up with an alternate fursona that's closer to me as a person than Riley. Since a fennec fox with a foot fetish doesn't really wrap up the package all nice n' pretty.

Long story short, I've taken a few quizzes online (however unreliable), and in turn got a good range of species to choose from. But that's just it. I can't really pick.

So I'd like a vote! I'd ask that anybody who reads this please participate.

Here's the list of species I was given:

1. Bengal Tiger
2. White Tiger
3. Horse
4. Domestic Canine
5. Wolf
6. Hyena
7. Cougar
8. Lion
9. Snow Leopard

All I need from you folks is to comment here with your top three choices.

I've got some sketches ready. The top three that I average out of the responses will get drawn, and will be left to my opinion. :3

Doctor, Doctor.

Whelp, after that last big-ass debacle with my parents, I've decided to go see my PCP and get myself checked out. Specifically for some emotional stuff.

The thing is, I think I might have bipolar disorder. My mood swings get worse when I don't feel comfortable around the people I live with. Specifically, my mom and dad. The last big fight that we had was actually about something that I posted about yesterday. You remember, the Outreach VT event? I had been waiting on my parents to get back from vacation in Florida to get an answer as to whether or not they'd be willing to let me use one of their vehicles to drive up to my boyfriend and meet him. You know, save him some money and energy.

Anyway, we had eventually settled on a good game plan for the trip. But that's not important, since I'm too old to go anyway.

My point with this morning's post is that I really just need some advice about being healthy. So I'm working with my folks to see when I can go in for a physical. I've really gone downhill over the course of the last two years.

What I'd love to know from you lovely peeps that actually read mah shiz hurr is...

What do you do to stay in shape? (specifics, not just "I work out")
What (if any) type of diet are you exercising?
What (if any) type of mental/emotional disorders are you dealing with?
--How hard do those disorders make it to do everyday things?--
--How discouraged do you find yourself when confronted with everyday choices?--

I'd love the feedback. Community and love is what we all need. Sooo yeah. Talk to me about the questions above.

--cupcake feedback is also accepted--

Game Nerd-dom!

All these years, I've always thought about starting a collection. Now, being an artist, I don't really have the premise (nor the funds) to start any real collection, let alone anything involving gaming.

However, in the possibly near future, I think I'd really enjoy trying to get my paws on some retro gaming consoles. Half of it isn't even the value of retro systems/games. Its the nostalgia.

Half of my memories as a kid (the good ones) involve the original and legendary Nintendo Entertainment System. Specifically, the top-loader. The classics... the challenge... oh gawd, I'm hard...

Erm... *cough* ... please disregard that *cough cough* bit of inappropriate-ness.

My point with this post is, I miss the old NES. My goal is to eventually become an avid NES collector/enthusiast.

I'd love to get a good grip on this.

Games I'd love to get my paws on once more are:

The Legend of Zelda
Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt
Super Mario Bros 2
Super Mario Bros 3
Zelda II-The Adventure of Link
Final Fantasy
Contra

There are a bunch of other classics that I used to own, but I can't for the life of me remember the name of 'em.

Anyway, I want to know what your favorite thing to collect is! What do you collect? How far along is your collection? What rarities do you possess?

You're all welcome to give me some feedback on this. I'd love to be right in the middle of all this nerdy action.

... just don't go around collecting nipples.

... no nipples.

Picture, if you could...

For those of you who are just introducing yourself to my blog, please note that this is a place for
free speech. This is simply a way to utilize my writing ability, as well as a method I'll be using to
de-stress myself. Seeing as I've been having a lot of that as of late.

Content at times may be NSFW, so please be warry of this when reading posts on this blog.

Here is my major malfunction today.

So, my mate and I were planning on going to this event up in Burlington, VT. It's called Outright Vermont. Essentially, a youth conference that they hold every year over at South Burlington High School, which gave us something to really look forward to attending together as a couple. They hold LGBT youth conferences, you get to connect with fellow LGBT members, and there's supposed to be a Queer Prom at the end of the night.

So around a week ago, my pup helped me sign up. We spent time planning, arguing, and being excited for the whole event. Well apparently the people that help run the event (specifically Dana J. Kaplan) are good at providing a distinct lack of early communication with their participants.

Early in the afternoon today (May 5th, 2014), I received a very disheartening email, direct from miss Dana herself, in reply to my application to the event:

"Thanks for being interested in attending and participating in the youth summit. Unfortunately, this event is for youth age 13-22, only. I see on your registration form that you are 23, so it's not going to work for you to participate.

It's really important that we keep to this agreed upon age range to create consistency and fairness for everyone that wants to be a part of Outrights youth events."

The main reason that this email immediately pissed me off is the fact that the organization behind the Outright VT had failed to send verification of any kind to myself or my mate only a week prior to the event.

My second point is, what a weird-ass age to make the cutoff. Now, I turned 23 in February. This was going to be the first big LGBT event that I've ever gone to. I've never been to a furmeet, convention, or event, regarding furries and/or LGBT.

Also, the one line in that email that sent me over the edge was, "fairness for everyone that wants to be a part of Outrights youth events."

Dana, if you had even a remote clue as to what attending this event meant to my mate and I, you'd have thought twice. Maybe next time, instead of knocking someone down like that, you could take the time to speak to the people that barely miss your ridiculous age limit.

Sooooo yeah! In essence, the big weekend we had planned is now shot (to an extent, at least I still get to see my baby), and I'm left with more stress than I needed. Too many family arguments. I needed a chance to really have a voice on key issues that I believe in, and one email from Dana J. Kaplan shot me right back into my seat after I responded with such excitement.

You want to run a better event, Miss Kaplan?  Here's a little advice.

It might be a youth summit, but I guarantee there are adults there that provide support, experience, and guidance to the youth attending. If that's the case, why not create a separate sign-up sheet for people who are over the age limit? I mean Jesus,  I only turned 23 nearly 3 months ago, and that somehow renders my attendance ineligible?

That's a big slap to the nads.

You need to learn a better planning strategy for sign-ups. I'm sure you get a lot of angry emails from people that are too old to attend. I do, however, if you're reading this blog, hope that you take something away from it that you didn't have before reading.

This was a huge shot to the heart (knock on wood) for my boyfriend and I. All we wanted to do was be apart of something bigger that ourselves, and show our support.

Re-evaluate your rules. They're a tad ridiculous.
